Yoga Nidra, also called “yogic sleep”, is a deeply healing and empowering state that starts with deep relaxation. It is a guided practice and it is usually practiced lying down with a teacher guiding the session.
The practice draws our attention inwards, and helps us navigate between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our body finds its natural state of equilibrium – the breath balances and becomes quiet, unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness where our consciousness remains active and in an observing state.
Yoga Nidra is a subtle, yet very powerful practice that can help us deal with every-day stress and triggers. This practice has the potential to release deep-seated traumas and guide our awareness toward our most authentic self, offering us healing and personal growth.
It is a practice anyone can do. It's easy to follow at any age. All that your body needs to do is lie down on the floor. And even if you can't lie down on the floor, you can still do this practice seated. As you lie down, supported in savasana, all you have to do is follow the voice that is guiding you.

How to practice
Practicing Yoga Nidra is simple and easy. No experience is needed. All you need to do is lying down and listen to the voice guiding you through the practice:
Practice in a nice and clean, well ventilated space where you can be undisturbed.
Leave enough time for practice.
Eat light. It is not recommended to practice after a full meal.
Wear loose, comfortable clothes
Be as comfortable as you can.
Keep a light blanket handy.
Simply listen, participate, be alert, and accept what happens.
Regular practice is important.
Remember that Yoga Nidra refers to a state of awareness and not to a specific technique.
